MAKING A GENERATOR

TITLE: HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE GENERATOR?
Contain:
Step 1
Find a 35mm plastic film can and remove the lid. Cut out two cardboard circles about 50mm diameter and cut out their centres (33mm diameter hole) so that they fit snugly onto the canister. Space the two circles about 1cm either side of the center of the can. Wind on a few turns of insulation tape on to the can, either side of the cardboard to hold them in place.
Step 2
Use the cardboard circles as a bobbin (or former) on which to wind the coil. Wind on 500 to 1000 turns of thin, insulated copper wire. Add a layer of sellotape to keep them from un-winding. Remember to leave about 10cm or so of wire free at each end.
Step 3
Scrape off some of the insulation (say 5mm or so) from the ends of the wire (using sandpaper) and connect to the LED (it does not matter which way round). Solder the connections if possible. Use some sellotape to secure the wire and LED to the bottom of the can.
Step 4
Pop a small (but powerful) magnet into the can and snap the lid back on. Hold the can between thumb and forefinger at the two ends of the can (with thumb or forefinger on the lid to stop it coming off !) and shake. The LED will light !!

Conclusion: The experiment is one of the example that we can make by our self. Please have try it at home!

electromagnetic induction video

 

Title: Electromagnetic induction video
Contain: It consist of introduction of electromagnetic principles. It discussed on the theory itself consisting of the induced emf, induced current and so on. Besides, there have the examples of experiment regarding to the title.
Conclusion: The electromagnetic induction can be applied whenever there have magnetic changes(magnet in and out) towards the solenoids. These theory will be applied to magic mat later on.

Magic Mat-Finally

 FYP SEMESTER 1
TITLE FOR FINAL YEAR PROJECT: MAGIC MAT


Inspired from the dancing mat, used for Play Station system or PC where it used feet instead of hand controller brings to the idea of creating the magic mat. The dance mat is a flat electronic game controller used for input in dance games while the magic mat is design to make use of energy where when people step on it will creates energy transfer. The output of the magic mat will be electricity comes from the input where people step on.
The magic mat’s idea is triggered because nowadays people do not realize on energy wasting. Here is the concept, when people used to throw rubbish everywhere places they are eventually not conscious that it actually can be reused as it can be recycling to produce the same product. Therefore the magic mat used the same concept but in another approach. For this project, the magic mat can light the side lamp of train’s rail just by step on the yellow block of passenger way. This project requires the research on the effect of electromagnetic induction where it induced energy from mechanical energy to electrical energy.

DISCUSSION ON SUITABLE TITLE

Sketching
Discussed on the topic regarding on the 'dynamo as the power transmission'. The idea is there but still need to be improve. As a result, at the end of the discussion there have heavily thinking of idea that must do it as a homework........
